loosen out of conformity

There was a time when I made art just for fun and there was a time when I didn't care if anyone else liked it.

Over time the conformity of making art to fit into expectations of school district art competitions, Ap-portfolios, and Teachers...makes your art no longer unique.
I have not made a piece that I was truly proud of ever.
The way I've been progressing doesn't really make me proud either.

So... I'm starting over. I'm trying to make pieces that look like anything in particular. Loosening up my style in hopes of making more stream of consciences pieces in hopes to create more distinct and unique looking pieces.
I'm not sure what my style is...and I can't stick to a medium because I like them all.
I'm also making efforts to have a break from school that is pleasant, money-earning, PS 2 playing, art creating, lots of alone time, no confusion, and filling it with new and a few old quality people who can be supportive, care, to have fun with, and that are not flakes.
It is unfortunate that I didn't realize how badly I wanted school too late... but there's always January.

Any suggestions?

Other than that not too much is going on. I've just been moving on from the past and doing my best to grow and for once be productive.

I'm also planning a hiking-fishing-(possibly)kayaking trip by myself. I may later on make adjustments to bring another person... you know some one to go tell people if I die. I'm looking for someone who knows the area and who is fun someone who can stick to coming along and not bail out.
Then again I don't know anyone like that....I'm leaning towards flying my best friend in from Texas. I'm excited because I've never planned a trip out for myself. I'm making preparations in the way that... I've been scoping out for good sightseeing and possibly challenging hikes. I'm also making the slow progress of building up my endurance by continuing to go running. I've also tried to decipher what I will need to bring.
I love being outdoors. I'm not sure If I'll work everything out.

I hope I can accomplish all my plans....
