old shoes

I started off the day getting ready for work only to realize that the shoes I typically every day were a little too worn out. These particular pair I got my junior year in high school. At first there were just plain purple over the years they had progressed to looking like this. There use to have tri-gun cat shoelaces in them because of ... other reasons. Now they have the bird ones in them.
Many friends over the years I've had have written on these. Most of it has faded. It's easier to tell who has more recently been my friend by what you can actually still read.

^^^^An I heart N for the days when I had dated Nate. The hammer for a past inside joke with my friends.

^^^ a "down with rose" by my friend Cassie for the Grey's Anatomy t.v. show. The front toe parts had only been drawn over once. Originally some one I had previously dated ( Ryan Urban ) had drawn really weird scribbles on them... and later that week I drew what's on there now. There was metal tape on the front toe parts for about a month..and eventually it fell off.

^^^^ there and old friendship bracelet from... I'm not sure where. Green scribbling from Derek Rowley. Blue silver maker from possibly my senior year in high school.. and of course Damien Rice, a music artist that I listened to every day my junior year.

^^^^ on the left shoe there's guesso. Which I later on drew designs over and colored in with different colors during one of the several days I did nothing else in my senior Ap art class. I think it says 'woot' on the right shoe... I'm not really sure why either.

^^^originally I bought these with intentions of never writ ting one them... other than the front toes they hadn't been... that is until one of my friends Cassie got bored.

^^^ Cassie quotes bummer stickers from a application on facebook

the black line design has faded... and was colored in on the 4th of July. There's still some fainted 'Lance the long boarder' on the front in red ink. Lance in a character invented by Cassie.

I usually have a difficult time finding shoes that I really like. I really liked these but probably won't wear them anymore. I got a replacement pair of shoes that I'm going to wear everyday basically.

The purple ones aren't too badly worn out.. but they look like an art room exploded on them... and also my brother and possibly other people are embarrassed by them.

The black and white pair ... well pieces randomly fall off and get into my shoes which makes them really uncomfortable... and the bottoms have holes with makes them horrible for winter weather and not puddle proof.

Good bye old shoes.

a long and good day

After completing the first day of my awesome second job my brother David, Lorry (David's wife), Julia ( The Bare Family's old foreign exchange student) and I went to the dance festival parade to kill time while Waiting for Nick Bare ( Lorry's brother) to take us to the ice caves.

In the parade there was a group and dance for each nationality. The parade was pretty small but it didn't stop a good portion of Rexburg coming out to see it. Some of the different groups had children dance with them.

eventually the parade ended and we all headed home. Nick came and we all got into Nick's truck. David and Lorry sat in the truck bed. Julia and I sat in the front. The ride took longer than I expected it too. AS we passed the sand dunes and got closer to the ice caves the road got more bumpy as did the ride in the back for David and Lorry.

We made it to the ice caves all in one piece and as the sun set every one got ready to go to the caves.

I think the ice caves are called the " Darby Ice Caves" . They weren't too difficult to get thorough however due to genetics my legs weren't quite long enough to reach everything I needed to. Thankfully Nick had been through once before and helped me and every one else get through safely. There was lots of slipping, lots of sliding through slopes and low areas. Every one seemed to have a great time despite the wet and cold.

Eventually We all made it out of the Ice cave at the end the sun had set and everything was dark well...other than every one's flash lights or head lamps and the stars. It was really pretty.
My brother and I offered to sit in the back on the truck for what wasn't too bumpy of a ride. Thankfully Nick drove more slowly, enough for David and I to nap on the ride back.

Tiredly every one got of the truck said goodnight and went off thier seperate ways to rest for the night.

camping at the palistines

I went camping friday and part of saturday with my brother David, his wife Lorry, Nick ( Lorry's brother), and Julia ( a past German forgien eschange student).
We set up camp, watched a movie, made dinner then every one slept.
The next day we didn't too too much. Just breakfest some games then swimming at the lake.

I didn't realy get to take too many pictures because I was busy most of the time. This has been the only fun thing I've really had the time to do since school got out.

We had to leave early because I ruined the fun and had to go so that I could be at work on time.
I tried to take some 360 pics but I still havne't mastered perfectly leveling the tri-pod yet.

happy happy Wednesday!

So I called in at work today because I was determined to find a new job... and In fact what made me get up this morning was my phone ringing ... I have a new job.. Well technically I have two jobs I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to manage that. If nothing else it'd be good to earn lots of money for school this coming up semester. So my hunt was A LOT easier than I had planned. I rearranged my furniture for probably the 3rd or 4Th time in the past month's time.
I started a new art piece yesterday and have run into designs flaws...and I'm not sure how I want to paint it... so it's at a stand still.

Anyways realizing I have no clue how to formally write my paper to petition my class I did all that I could think was left. I went on a bike ride to the nature park. When I first got there I realized that I must have shown up around feeding time because all the ducks were coming up to the people at the park. One grey and brown duck was following my for a while. After a while I got off my bike to get closer to it for a picture only to realize that it must have been love at first site with my bike.
It was beautiful and perfect out today. I'm sad I didn't realize it until an hour before sunset.

So tomorrow starts a two-job-life day.

catching up with an old friend

So the past semester made me lose touch with a lot of friends.
At times just calling and texting doesn't really explain how life has been going.
So Nate and I went for a walk to the Nature park and the train tracks. It's nice to talk to some one who doens't take a side and can just be there. It's good to have a friend that's always there no matter what. ... even when I fall off the face of the Earth for a while.
We started out the Hart on campous then past Porter's park, to the nature park, then the train tracks, and took a break at Wendy's.... and then back to the Hart and headed home. We managed to cover a lot of ground walking and talking and catching up with each other lives. I came back home for a bit and then headed over to the Nature park for the sunset.

Great Day.

end and begin

Today I lay ed around in my fort... and playing shadow of the colossus...letting my true loser colors show. After drifting in and out of a nap for half of the day I went for a bike ride saw my dino friend who doesn't like his pictures being taken...

but at least the ducks can't hide that quickly!

everything is coming to an end and it's a little annoying that there's a pattern developing with every semester...

but after this break I have a chance to change it!
So here's to a break and the start of what WILL be a much more productive semester!
