Typical Saturday

I started the morning off before the sun rises and head off to one of my jobs...

Later on I went to the post office and bought international stamps...
then home for a while so I could shower and apply for more jobs.

So jobs I am concidering:
Yellowstone, Alaskan Tour, Random sales in Dallas, and the one I would want the most is... The Peace Corps.

So ever since I was in middle school I had wanted to be able to see the world, to make a impact on others, to feel acomplished, and well I had always wanted to be a part of the peace corps. I started the application today...my chances of getting a spot are very low and it's a big sacrafice ( 27 months I believe). It's longer than serving a full time mission. I'm going to try to go with the benefits from the community outreach program and how it would better me once I become a teacher.
If I get in (WHICH IS A HUGE LONG SHOT) then I'll be putting off school for more than two years..but I could never miss that kind of oppurtunity.

Anywhooo after that I was off to my seond job til 1:45am. It was busy and we are making record sales now that Block Buster has bit the dust!

I have so many options right now it's sort of over-whelming
...More work tomorrow.

tribute to Ashley Wood the illustrator

I first saw Ashley's work in April,2008. IT was this piece

I think for the typical artist that I meet in this town... most would say her pieces are more on the dark side...perhaps even on the vulgar side. Thankfully I am much more open when it comes to art.
Her pieces show her ability to protray an event in one panel. She has an obvious sense of all the elements that make an great illustrator like scale, however, she takes a very creative, expressive, visually interesting approach that I think other artist tend to be afraid of or just can't accomplish.
if you just look at her pieces you can see that her lines are loose but confident. She has a very painterly look while still giving the objects form enough to tell the story...
and anyways I'm jealous.

to see more work check it on her blog: http://ashleybambaland.blogspot.com/

Skyler Lee, newest nephew.

not Sure if I spelled his name the right way...pretty horrible I know.
I'm excited for my first nephew that I'll actually get to see!

wa-wa-wa-waaaashington

*******

so... my friend Cassie Needed to go home. I didn't want Cassie to die on the ride home...I did my best and within an hour and a half a few packed bags, getting work covered, a blessing, a red bull, and a ample amount of snacks we headed out.

hours passed, gas was refilled, snow made the ride longer, and I drove for what was the most nerve racking 2 hours of my life with squinty sleepy eyes.

Eventually I saw the green of the plants and the fog that hid my chances of seeing the sights from the car.
Dead tired we rolled into Cassie's awesome house on the harbor.
Cassie and I made the rounds seeing her family while still seeing a bit of the sights.
